at Doncaster Rovers & Bury F.C. Served his time at Killingworth
Boys club. Gary is useful in outfield positions in emergencies.

played well in the friendly games where he was brave and
has shown to have safe hands. Martin’s former club
was Herrington C.W. and learned his game at the popular
Lambton Street Boy’s club. Martin is a Sunderland

is another young keeper who fared well in the friendly games,
Gary like his colleagues has safe hands and at just over
6 feet tall is ideal build for a keeper, a former Roofing
junior who was last with Harton & Westoe in the Wearside
League. Gary’s former clubs also include Hebburn &
Boldon C.A. A follower of Liverpool.

is a young defender who enjoys playing at left back, a former
Brandon United player who supports Newcastle and learned
the game at the City of Durham Junior club.

is a young defender who came to the club from Gateshead
Colleges.

is a fast & confident young man who will feature at
the club in either full back positions.

Alec’s
favourite team is Man United, he prefers to play in the
left back position, a tall youngster whose heading ability
stands well especially when defending corner kicks. Another
product of Brandon United and a former City of Durham Youth
player.

is a good find for the club, a left back from Brandon United
who can fill in at one of the hated jobs in most clubs.
David has played at Horden C.W. and learned the trade a
s a Junior at Hilda Park. A Newcastle follower when not
playing himself.

DJ
is a tall versatile defender who prefers to play as a Central
Defender, a good header of the ball with a fair but pace.
DJ joined the club from Oldham Town where he made an outstanding
performance against Curzon Ashton in the F.A. Vase last
season. DJ has previously played for Erith Town

Gary
stood out in the first friendly of the season a talented
young Central Defender who takes no prisoners. Powerful
in the air, good on the ground and knows how to play a bit.
Another product of the Brandon area and at 6ft - 2 ins will
be featuring for the club in several games. A City of Durham
Junior, whose favourite League side is Newcastle United.
Gary was also with Darlington as a Junior.

Liam
is a former Sunderland Junior, he is a tall & powerful
full back with a great left foot. Never shirks a tackle
& distributes the ball well.

Kyle
signed last season for the Roofers from Wearside League
side Cleadon Club. This seasons Team Captain because of
his leadership skills, a no nonsense central defender who
is comfortable on the ball, a good header, who also distributes
the ball well.

is happy to play anywhere across the midfield, his former
clubs include Hebburn Town & Newcastle Benfield, his
last club was Harton & Westoe, another tall player whose
favourite League club is Man United.

is a tall solidly built young player who was formerly at
Horden, he gets from box to box with ease and is a good
header of the ball

side midfield Despite his stature Nick is a tenacious
player, who never says never, another Brandon United product
who is keen to do well with the Roofers. A Newcastle supporter.

Right
side midfield Stuart is another midfielder whose last
club was Brandon United. Stuart is quick thinking midfielder
who likes to take a player on he puts a good ball into the
box and does it well at pace. A Sunderland supporter.

Central
midfield Lee is a solid central midfielder who
should do well playing down the middle where he holds the
ball and passes it equally as well. Lee signed from Brandon,
who was at Sunderland Ryhope C.A. and was a former St Josephs
Junior. A Sunderland follower.
Paul

Midfield/Forward Paul
is a previous Player of the Year who works in the Engine
room of the side giving it those extra revs, a pocket dynamo,
a powerful player, quick across the park with a great leap
which gives us extra edge. This seasons Vice Captain, Paul
served his time at Humbledon Juniors and came to Roofing
via Washington. Roofings longest serving player. Michael
Fort b 27/12/1983 Attacking Midfield Michael
is another quick footed former Brandon Player who enjoys
playing either in midfield or attack, should settle well
in the side this season. Another Chelsea follower. Nick
Pain b 12/09/1986 Right side midfield Nick
is another local lad whose height is an asset to his game.
He is a quick thinking player who can get into scoring positions
or provide for others, a former Cleadon player who learned
the game at Whitburn & Cleadon Juniors, a Newcastle
United follower.

Striker Andy
is a quick footed player whose pace and height in the penalty
area will see him score goals as well as being a good supply
route to his team mates. Andy is one of several former Brandon
players who learned his trade at Middlesbrough, Sunderland,
Darlington and the City of Durham Junior clubs. A keen Chelsea
follower. Chris Bailey b 17/09/1987 Striker Chris
is a young local footballer whose height is a bonus in the
penalty area, a former Boldon Junior striker who has played
at Boldon C.A. recently. A Sunderland follower.

Striker
Craig is a prolific striker whose pace across the defence
causes havoc, a product of So Tyneside Youth side who spent
some time at Sheffield Wednesday Youths before signing for
two seasons as a pro at Middlesbrough. Craigs best
memory was scoring against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Richie
has over the years had the knack of finding young up &
coming local talent. This isn’t down to just good
luck but through his efforts when viewing Local league games
then giving players the chance to take part at Northern
League level. He has said that there is a wealth of local
talent in South Tyneside & that given the right opportunities
& coaching, they could prove that Football in So. Tyneside
can be taken a step higher than that at which it is. Roofing’s’
current squad has a wealth of young players.

is back with the Roofers after a short spell back at Brandon
his home town team that unfortunately folded last season.
Steve
Dale b 29/07/65 Coach
Steve
has Football League experience after being at Walsall F.C.
his six feet plus frame adds a solid presence to the touchline
where he reads the game well and encourages the lads vocally.
Steve will be a great help to the club this season.
John
Cullen Physio
John
is a popular and very easy going physio who is also one
of the lads, John is also involved in Local Sunday League
Football where he runs the Deneside Football Club. Always
on the lookout for up and coming Sunday Players who could
make the grade at a higher level.
